Gansèr

This stool takes its name from a typical figure of the Venice everyday life, which is slowly disappearing: the Gansèr, an old gondolier, who is not in activity anymore.

He waits a gondola to stop and helps its passengers getting off the boat by hooking it with a stick with an hook on its end ("ganso" in Venetian dialect). Then, with a kind gesture, he takes off its hat asking for a small compensation for his help.

The stool, is a briccola pole , cutted at its extremities, at the horizonatal part for the seat, while the vertical part maintain the typical erosian signs.

Its slight inclination which helps who sits down to get up the stool, it recalls the kind gesture of the "Ganser".
